About the Program

The Genesis EIR (Entrepreneur-in-Residence) Program by NIT-C Incubation Centre (NIT/TBI) is a strategic initiative under the GENESIS scheme, designed to support early-stage startups in cutting edge domains such as IOT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and Deep Tech. The program provides aspiring entrepreneurs with financial assistance, mentorship, and a structured ecosystem to transform their innovative ideas into scalable businesses.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicant should be citizen of India.
  2. Early-stage startups
  3. The entity must not be older than 1 year at the time of application
  4. The applicant must not have received significant external funding (exceeding ₹10 lacs, including government funding)
  5. The startup idea must be original and not involve duplication of existing products/services or any form of plagiarism

Selection Process

 

After the receipt of proposals, NIT will check the eligibility of each applicant

Applicants who are eligible will then be scrutinised by the screening committee based on certain qualifying criteria to present before the expert committee. Screening will be subject to the parameters other than the eligibility, such as innovation, potential for commercialization and venture creation, team capability and commitment, etc.

Only shortlisted participants will be notified about the final presentation to the expert committee.

The decision of the expert committee for approval and funding support will be final, firm and binding. NIT/TBI will not provide any clarification/ explanation with regards to the applications that are not selected

The final decision of the expert committee will be communicated only to the approved applicants via email.

The approved applicant then register for the pre-incubation or incubation program at NIT Incubation Centre for the entire duration of GENESIS-EIR support.
